"believe"
Layout by Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

I present to you my second inspiration of this month of April.
A spring layout always using our fantastic chipboards including
these beautiful flowers "Magnolia Stems".

"believe"

The chipboards used:

- Christmas Mini-Word Set 2
- Magnolia Stems
- Aged Film Strip Set
- Flower Doilies
- Lacy Border Set 1

To begin, I apply a layer of white gesso to every chipboard.

To embellish the chipboards "Magnolia Stems" I chose ink "Oxide Distress" color "musard seed"
and "rustic wilderness".

I love the way these flowers were designed.
Their size and structure make them easy to ink, making it even easier to play
with colors and reveal details.

I proceed in the same way on the chipboard "Lacy Border".
For the chipboard "Aged Film Strip", I put a thin layer of ink "Oxide Distress"
color 'brushed corduroy'.
Using this close-up, I wanted to show you how chipboards fit perfectly with paper embellishments.

As for the chipboard "Flower Doilies" I apply a simple layer of white acrylic paint.
It really is one of my favorites. It has a striking resemblance to a lace doily.

In order not to waste the particle boards, I cut the "Aged Film Strip" particle boards.
One part for the top and another for the bottom on which I add my title.

I hope I gave you some inspiration with this layout.

See you soon for another inspiration!

A Glimpse of You ~ by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone! Robin here again, back to share some more 2Crafty goodness!

This layout is of my granddaughter from many years ago. One of these photos got scrapped back then, but the other one didn't. So I thought, why not use both on the same layout. Hope you like it, and enjoy my process....

"Glimpse of You"

2Crafty chippies I used:

Foliage Set 11

Circular Border

A Glimpse of You

As I always say, gesso up those chippies!

I used the same medium on all the chipboard. I just used a lighter application on some, and a darker application on others to coordinate with the depth of color on the background, and with the foliage elements.

I used Light Moss Green My Paper World Soft Color. This medium is kind of an oily stain that is easy to get different shades of the same color. I have had it for many years, and I don't know if you can even get it anymore. I have looked for it, but can't find it. If anyone happens to know where to get it, please let me know!!

Here is one of the pieces from the Foliage Set 11 at the left of the photo.  I dabbed it on with a stippling brush, and then wiped it off with a paper towel a few times to get a medium application. I wanted to give it a distressed look and to have it blend in with the floral design. Sometimes chipboard can be used as an extension of the design, which is what I tried to do with this layout.

Here, running between the photos is the Circular Border. With this piece, I applied the medium the same way, only using more of it to get a darker application.

And then I placed another one of the pieces from the Foliage Set 11 here on the right side of the composition to give some balance. I used a medium application, the same as the one on the right.

Here is the bottom of the Circular Border.  I ran it the length of the design separating the photos. Again, for me, it's all about trying to achieve balance with my designs.  I think having a darker piece down the middle brings it all together.

For the title, A Glimpse of You, I used the lightest application of the medium. I wanted it the stand out against the red of her dress and the flower underneath it. Also, by using a very light application, I got the same color as the lighter color on the background paper.

I hope you like this layout and will try using varying depths of color from the same medium to create dimension on your layouts. Really easy, and creates beautiful transitions of color.

See you next month!

Lastly for my title Remember Moments like this
I have simple given this two coats of gesso..

You Rock - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi!

Laura back today to share my next layout for 2Crafty Chipboard!

The handsome young man is oldest Cody who really enjoys playing the guitar.  Music is a big part of his life.  I wanted to create a grungy masculine layout so I ripped, edged and used a stencil on the paper.

2Crafty Products used:

ATC Music Notes

Flourish 2

Grid Bits

Guitar

You Rock

I tucked the Flourish in behind the title and elements to give dimension after I inked it dark green and heat embossed it.  The title I wanted to stand out from the background and to achieve that I hightlighted the blue paint with copper paint

The guitar I covered in clear gesso, heat set, then applied green mist, watered down copper paint then inked with brown ink.

I also used green and brown ink on the Grid Bits and added a few painted music notes.

Thanks for looking

Double Trouble ~ by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone, welcome back to the fabulous 2Crafty Blog. We're glad you are here!

Today I am sharing a layout of a very cute little girl. She's sweet as sugar, but, she does have a bit of a diva attitude! I think it's in the breed, because we have other dogs, not Maltese, who don't act like her. They just act like dogs! This one is a princess, and she knows it!

"Double Trouble"

2Crafty used:

Textured Tile Bits

Word Circle Set 1

4"Mandala no 2

Double Trouble

All of the chipboard was first coated with gesso. On this layout I used both black and white gesso.

Up top I used a piece of the Textured Tile Bits under the photo stack. I placed it here to create balance with the right side of the photo. I painted it with black Gesso to get a matte black.

To the right of the Tile Bits piece, I added one of the circles from the Word Circle Set 1. I cut the actual word out and just used the circle because I needed something that was the right size for the circle word piece that I used. This fit perfectly. I painted it with Azure Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink.

Here on the right of the photo I placed another piece of the Textured Tile Bits, also just painted with black Gesso. These fun little pieces a just right to add interest and dimension to your project.

This photo captured her reflection, so I thought this title was very appropriate! I don't usually try to make the title the focus of a layout, but in this case I wanted the title, Double Trouble to really stand out. Underneath the title, I placed the 4" Mandala no 2 to give it a little pizazz. It looks black, but is actually painted with Azure Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink, the same as the Word Circle Set piece.

Double Trouble was painted with White Acrylic Paint. In the design and composition of this layout, I used all the colors in the photo; black and white for the dog, and blue for her bow. I wanted the photo to pop against the light background, so I made the choice to use bold accents.

So there it is, I hope you like it. I really like to create layouts documenting all aspects of life, pets notwithstanding. They make wonderful models, too!

Love This Memory by Tania Ridgwell

Hi there!

Just popping in today to share the last of my DT projects for April.  I have created a layout.

"Love This Memory"

2 Crafty Chipboard Used:

*Thin Rectangle Stacked Frames
*Aged Film Strip Set
*2023's
*Mini Title Stick Set 5

I used the gorgeous Mintay Mamarazzi Collection to create the base for my layout.
Once I had created my background I set about putting my page together.

I gave the Aged Film Strip Chippies a spray with Kaisercraft Black Mist and once dry I rubbed some Antique Gold Brush Leaf Gold Paint over them.  I painted the largest Rectangle Stacked frame with Antique Gold Brush Leaf Paint and once dry attached it to my photo and added it to the centre of the page.  I added lots of fussy cut elements and flowers along the top and bottom of my photo.  I cut the Aged Film Strip Chippies into pieces and tucked these in amongst the Embellishment clusters.

I finished off my page by adding a Title from the Mini Stick Title Set 5 and the year 2023.
I left both of these raw.

Thats' all from me today, I hope I have inspired you all with my Layout.

Until next time thanks so much for stopping by.

Tania xx

'Sweet Times'
with Lisa Amiet

Hello all!
It's Lisa back today to share some scrappy goodness with you.
I have created a layout of a photo of my children and I.

'Sweet Times'

2Crafty products used:

For this layout, I used one of the 'Mini Decorative Frame Set 6',
that I tucked in to frame a flower from the embellishments.

I also used one of the 'ATC Design Elements'
as a flourish from the heart embellishments.

I also used the 'Frame Ingrid's' to frame my sentiment.
So pretty and delicate.
I have left my chipboard raw as I felt it coordinated
with the vintage nature papers that I have used.

And I also folded the wings up on one of the 'Mollie's Butterfly Set'
and layered it onto its solid piece for some dimension.

To finish, I used one of the locks from the 'Key Set Mini' to add to my page.

I hope that you like what I have created,
I really like the soft delicate nature feel to this page.

Until next time!

Lisa
